Hiking & biking Unlimited trails starting from your door, including a 5 hour climb up TEE PEE mountain, (one of the higher peaks in the Rocky Mountains). The area offers also a wide variety of hiking opportunities within a short drive.

Fishing The lake provides excellent fishing for Rainbow Trout up to 5 lbs, There are any number of rivers, streams, and other lakes close by as well.

Photography and birdwatching  The Kootenay area is world renown for its wildlife and mountain scenery.  Our wildlife includes moose, elk, whitetail and mule deer, cougar, wolves, coyote, grizzly & black bear and many smaller animals.  Our bird species are endless from the very smallest humming birds to the beautiful bald eagle. One of our guests counted 21 different bird species just around the cabin itself. Your measure of success in photography or wild life viewing will depend on how much time you spend at it.

Golf  - There are at least 5 - 18 hole golf courses within 1 hours drive - eg Cranbrook, Trickle Creek, Bootleg Gap, Kimberley and St Eugene Mission. Within a 2 hour drive there are another 5 plus courses. Most of the mentioned courses are very highly rated. We also have many smaller par 3 courses around the area.St. Eugene Mission Golf Resort

Other Activities

Hot Springs  - Soak in the hot mineral water of one of the natural hot springs in the area located within 1 hour of the cabin. Caution - these are undeveloped sites, so use at your own risk. You may want to visit the developed hot springs at Radium or Fairmount a short 1½ hours away. The Radium Hot Springs

Fort Steel Historical site Spend a day or two visiting this restored gold rush town from the 1870's or take in the live theater that plays each evening during the summer season.Fort Steele Heritage Town
